Traditional rulers in Delta North have met with elected officials representing the area in the National, State Assemblies and local councils to discuss security.
The meeting held at the palace of the traditional ruler of Owa kingdom, Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor II, Ika North East council of Delta State.
The closed-door meeting was held to proffer solution to insecurity in Delta North ranging from Fulani herdsmen attacks, kidnappings and armed robberies.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Efeizomor, who doubles as the Chairman, Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, lamented that women are being kidnapped and raped, while calling on herdsmen to come out of the bush, just as he said the security of the area shouldn’t be left alone in the hands of government.
The deliberation also focused on how to strengthen community vigilante to enable them confront security challenges and how to harmonise all community vigilantes to confront various security challenges.
Those who attended the meeting include the Deputy Speaker, Ocho Ocho, Moses Iduh, Festus Okoh, Charles Emetulu, Ndokwa West, Princess Pat Ajudua, Oshimili Nrth, Mr. Austin Chikezie, Aniocha South, Elekokuri Anthony, Ika North east, Engr Emeka Nwobi, and Aniocha North council chairman, Mr. Chuks Oseme.
